Despite Strict Restrictions imposed in South Kashmir's Kulgam District Thousands Thousands of people including women have reached the Khudwani area of Quimoh belt in Southern Kashmir's Kulgam District on Wednesday to attend the funeral prayers of slain militant and the civilian. Passionate Men and women from nearby areas flocked to the Khudwani area reciting folk tales and raising high pitched Pro Freedom Slogans. People are still marking their way to Khudwani area in South Kashmir which is one of the most volatile regions of Kashmir and was at the major centers of 2016 Uprising.

Dozens of people have been killed in Khudwani belt since 1989 after the armed insurgency started in the Himalyan Region of Kashmir which is claimed by Both India and Pakistan. Thousands of people have taken up arms since resulting in a bloody violence and thousands of people loosing their lives, in what is called 'encounters.' There has been a lot of civilian casualty too and property worth billions of rupees has been damaged in gunfights between armed fighters and Government Forces. Interestingly the stone throwing at encounter sites which has become common in Kashmir started in this region in 2015, a civilian Aasif Ahmed was killed by forces' firing then. Post 2010, Young Kashmiris have again started picking up Guns which political commentators argue is a result of lack of a political will to address the political sentiments of Kashmiris. In 2016, at least a 100 youth from South Kashmir alone picked up arms which included a young boy, Farheen Ahmad Wani who was not more than 16 when he picked up the Gun. Farheen as per reports has been active since 13 Jun 2017 when he is believed to have snatched arms from the security Guards deployed in the house of Justice Muzaffar Ahmed Attar in Islamabad's KP Road in South Kashmir. Farheen and one other boy from Khudwani area is believed to have snatched two weapons from the security men at the house of Muzaffar Attar on 13 June 2017.

He joined outfit, Hizb ul Mujahideen after decamping with a rifle at the KP road incident post which his parents made several attempts to call him home, however to no avail. Farheen on 09 January was trapped in Kokernag area of South Kashmir and killed in a Gunbattle with Government forces in the area. His body was later handed over to the Jammu Kashmir Police who handed it over to his family. Since Yesterday Thousands of people started flooding the houses of the Hizb to pay their homage to the slain militant which has become a common sight at the houses of slain militants.
